ENGLISH INFO "Living the dream" ... that's the title of one of his Live-CDs and also the name of the game for the german-born american Gerd Rube who made his lifelong dream come true... In 1990 he turned his hobby into profession and started touring from the south of Germany to all over Europe. He won awards in several talent shows like "Vize-Landesrocksieger", "Newcomer of the year" of the GACMF, opened shows for bands like Uriah Heep, Spencer Davis Group, Curtis Stigers, Johnny Guitar Watson... His CDs got great press-responses and awards like "album of the month". In 1994 the german fashion company C&A picked him out of 3000 bands for their TV talent-show and sponsored/featured his video on MTV. Magdalena Brzeska (26-times rhythmic gymnastics german champion) was touring with Gerd Rube in 1994 during the DTB-Galas across Germany (Europa- halle Frankfurt, Deutschlandhalle Berlin etc.) performing to his live-music. He also performed several times at the Gottlieb- Daimler-Stadium for his home-team of the national league soccer: VFB Stuttgart. US-producer Mike Waddell hired Gerd Rube for a Nashville studio session with top musicians from the band of platin-cowboy Garth Brooks. Back in Florida, Teddy Mulet from the legendary "Miami Sound Machine" (Gloria Estefan) produced his album "Keys dreaming" featuring several musicians of the "MSM". In 2002, Hollywood-actor Harvey Keitel ran into Gerd Rube at a gas station in Key Largo while being on a break taping the movie "Red Dragon". He loved Gerd's old black Ford Mercury and used it in the movie. Look out for it! "Do what I love & love what I do" Even after numerous cd-release, his infectious live-performance is still Gerd's relentless passion. It does not take more than his acoustic guitar and his markable voice to thrill his devoted audience. These days he is touring live with a performance of his originals and a mix of selected american rock classics. Magdalena Brzeska (26-fache deutsche Meisterin der Rhythmischen Sportgymnastik) tourt 1994 mit Gerd Rube und einer Choreographie zu seiner live-gespielten Musik im Rahmen der DTB-Galas durch die Republik (Europahalle Frankfurt, Deutschlandhalle Berlin etc.) Musikalisch-sportlich zeigt er sich live auch mehrmals beim Rahmenprogramm im Gottlieb- Daimler-Stadion beim VFB Stuttgart. US-Producer Mike Waddell holte den gebürtigen Schorndorfer zu Studio-Aufnahmen mit hochkarätigen Musikern von Platin-Cowboy Garth Brooks nach Nashville/Tennessee. Hollywood-Star Harvey Keitel trifft 2002 während eine Drehpause an einer Tankstelle in Key Largo ' auf Gerd Rube und mietet dessen schwarzen Ford Mercury mit dem er dann durch den Kino-Streifen "Roter Drache" fährt. "Do what I love & love what I do" Seine mitreissende Live-Performance ist nach zahlreichen CD-Veröffentlichungen immer noch Gerd Rube's unermüdliche Passion. Es braucht nicht mehr als seine Acoustic-Gitarre und die markante Reibeisenstimme um sein treues Publikum zu begeistern. Heute tourt er mit seinem Programm aus eigenen Songs und ausgewählten amerikanischen Rock- klassikern im Sommer quer durch die Bundesrepublik und im Winter acht Monate lang durch seinen geliebten US-Sonnenstaat Florida...
